Meet the speakers

Quinn Kelly

Quinn originally graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in journalism but after working for a year after college, she felt she had missed her real calling for helping people so she went back to school and became a licensed marriage and family therapist.

Shortly after beginning her family and therapy practice, Quinn started her blog called Sanctification and Spitup -- a place where she could combine her love of writing with her love of encouraging others all into one. This blog allowed her writing to spread and be published on sites like Today Show’s Funniest Parents, Huffington Post, Scary Mommy, Family Share, Love What Matters and Mother and Baby Australia.

After beginning to speak in the Houston Area, Quinn felt called to lead her own conference and thus began the Renew Faith Conference, which led to two conferences with over 600 women in attendance. From those, the Renew You Podcast was birthed. A podcast created to encourage others to find renewal through faith in their everyday life in a fun, fresh and engaging way.

When Quinn is not hanging with her hubby and four boys OR can likely find her eating a dessert in her pantry. If you are not following along with her, Quinn would love for you to join her!

Keva Horry

Born in Knoxville, Tennessee and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, there is no question that Keva DeVelle Horry is truly a southern girl at heart. Keva attended Stillman College in 1989-1990. She went on and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Alabama, which is where she met and later married her college sweetheart, seven-time NBA Champion, Robert Horry. The “Horry Glory” days were fun, but her true claim to fame is having a heart for Jesus, a heart for service and proudly wearing the banner of motherhood. She is the mother of two beautiful children--Camron Horry, and the late Ashlyn Horry.

Ashlyn was born with a rare chromosome abnormality known as 1p36 (pronounced one p three six) Deletion Syndrome. Doctors did not expect the young Horry to live beyond infancy. However devastating the news of her prognosis, Keva, at 23 years young, did not let that dim her laser focus. As a matter of fact, she looked at it as an opportunity for her to exercise what her parents had always taught her growing in God. Not knowing what the future was going to hold, but knowing who held the future, Keva instantly began a journey as Ashlyn’s primary caregiver. After years of emergency hospital visits, ICU stays, around-the-clock nurses, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy; compounded with: strong faith, a strong prayer life, and resilient love, Ashlyn was able to beat odds that her doctors said from the beginning she wouldn't. Although modified, she walked. She talked. She went to school. She had the best quality of life that a child with different abilities could have. Keva saw to it. At 17 years old, Ashlyn succumbed to her illness after suffering with severe respiratory complications in June 2011.

With an understanding that personal experiences often times lead to greater purpose, Keva carries on her daughter’s legacy of love as the Founder and Executive Director of The Ashlyn Horry Foundation, Inc. established in May 2008. The organization has worked closely with The Ronald McDonald House by providing hot meals for families while their children have lengthy stays at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. AHF raises awareness about 1p36 Deletion Syndrome, raises funds to further the research of this disease, and it has proven to be a reliable resource to many other families in the same or similar circumstances as Keva and her family.

Keva is an advocate for children with special needs (or, as she likes to say, children with different abilities). She is also a writer with contributing articles in various publications, a published author and sought-after public speaker who reaches hearts and educates minds through sharing her experiences having been the wife of an accomplished professional athlete and as the mother of a special-needs child. Her highly successful memoir, “Glamorous Sacrifice: Life in the Shadow of Championships,”is her homage to her daughter, Ashlyn. Keva is a member of the National Basketball Wives Association (NBWA) where her strong desire to give back to humanity is always

a call to action. She is also a proud member of a sisterhood that shares her heart's call to service, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Keva resides in Houston, Texas, and is looking forward to many more opportunities to be of service and watching her 20 year old son, Camron, play football as he enters his Junior year in the fall for Texas A&M University.

Tara Carr

Tara Carr, a true entrepreneur at heart has held many job titles including fashion designer, fitness personality, business coach, and social media influencer. But, her most important role is and always will be Mom.

She got her start in business almost 10 years ago when she launched her clothing line, Ava Lane Couture. After years of traveling all over the US to market and sell her clothing line, she felt the #momguilt and the constant tug of being in a career that required her to travel and being a mama to her then toddlers. She ultimately decided to let the business go to pursue a career online which would allow for more time at home with her girls.

As it turns out, online business became her passion and she quickly began building a personal brand under her name Tara Carr. Today, she has successfully marketed and built online businesses in the fitness industry and in the business coaching realm. Her most recent endeavor though has landed her back in the fashion industry as an online fashion and lifestyle influencer. You can find her most days on Instagram, where she works with brands such as Madewell, Living Proof, Waterloo Sparkling Water, Valencia Hotel Group, DIFF eyewear, and 7-up to name a few!

Through it all, her goals have stayed the same. Empowering women to take charge of their careers and create for themselves any reality they can imagine. To teach women how to lead with confidence, show up for themselves and others in a way that makes them proud, and to do it all because they are capable and deserve it.
